GEORGE NEWS - The George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is asking the public to come forward with information that could assist police to track down an alleged rapist.
It is believed that the man raped a girl (16) in Thembalethu on Sunday 14 May. The identikit of the man only reached George Herald today, 12 October.
It is alleged that the victim was on her way home when two men approached her in 13th Avenue near the All Brick hall in Zone 8.
“They accosted the girl and robbed her of a cellphone. It is further alleged that one of the men forced himself onto the girl and raped her,” said Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies.
The suspect is believed to be in his early twenties, of slender build and at least 1,7m tall.
Anyone who is able to identify this man is kindly requested to assist police with information about his whereabouts.
