Update
GEORGE NEWS - Thembinkosi Joseph Mgabaza* (33) who was allegedly involved in the attack and robbery on Karen Marshall at her home in Hoekwil in December, briefly appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on Monday 19 March.
At the time of going to print the details around his court appearance could not yet be confirmed.
Marshall was attacked and robbed by four men at around 22:00 on Thursday 28 December. She sustained severe bruises and injuries to her wrists and ribs.
Mgabaza, from KwaNonqaba in Mossel Bay, was arrested eight days later on 5 January on a charge of possession of stolen property and theft. At the time of his arrest he had a cellphone in his possession that linked him to the Hoekwil attack.
Mgabaza remains in custody in George.
* As per initial information received from the police, Brian Page was previously referred to as the suspect in this case. Although he is in custody on similar charges, Page cannot be linked to the attack on Marshall.
