Over the past weekend nearly 600 schoolchildren and visitors paid a visit and viewed the exhibitions and attended the talks and demonstrations from 08:00 to 17:00. Visit the botanical garden's website at www.botanicalgarden.org.za for the exciting programme and view the layout for the Garden Master Plan.
Master Plan
The GRBG's draft Garden Master Plan, which was introduced at the recent annual general meeting, is available for viewing at the National Science Week event along with several architectural concepts for the planned Environmental Education Centre.
Garden members and the general public are encouraged to come and view the designs and provide feedback.
Kristen Hoek, the GRBG's administrative official, said, "You may also obtain some of the designs on our website. We look forward to getting your feedback. The plans provide for a forest canopy walk, a sculpture garden and art gallery as well as a restaurant, orientation garden, tea garden and conference centre."
Daily bird, butterfly and indigenous walks are conducted.
