GEORGE NEWS - The first baby born on Christmas Day at the George hospital arrived at 06:50 this morning.
Silodia Jansen’s little boy weighed 4,52kg and was 54 cm in length.
Eight babies, four boys and four girls were born at the George hospital by 17:00 with one more expected in the next two hours.
Sister Maria Kayser said the staff was run off their feet in the morning but most important all the Christmas babies are healthy.
Sister Dianne Peel at the George Mediclinic said they are expecting the first Christmas baby at around 18:30 and hopefully one more before midnight.

Evette and Davin Janse van Rensburg with little Lisa who was born at 09:25. “She was due on the 18th December but surprised us by waiting for Christmas Day to make acquaintance with the world” said an excited Davin.
