GEORGE NEWS - The Pacaltsdorp Police Sector’s commanders teamed up with Legally You, the George Traffic Department, Avbob, the Pacaltsdorp Community Business Association (PCBA), and the Smoking and Alcohol Harms Alleviation and Rehabilitation Association (Sahara) for a powerful Women’s Day safety drive aimed at protecting and empowering women in the community.
Women’s safety is a year-round priority, and the Pacaltsdorp Police have committed to continuing these drives beyond August, strengthening the partnership between law enforcement and the community.
The annual evening initiative focused on the bus routes in Pacaltsdorp and to ensure the safety of women travelling to and from work, especially those working night shifts.
The officers and Legally You’s Adv Marilyn Olifant handed out some small gifts, shared safety tips and distributed emergency numbers and information on gender-based violence support services.
“This drive is our way of showing women that we see them, we value them, and we will stand beside them in the fight against gender-based violence,” said Olifant.
