GEORGE NEWS - The South African Post Office and trade unions are meeting with government again today to discuss salary negotiations.
According to Western Cape South African Post Office (Sapo) spokesperson, Martie Gilchrist, the negotiations between the company and trade unions are now at a very sensitive stage.
“The trade unions have adjusted their demand to an increase across the board of 8%. The company offers 6%, which is the absolute maximum that the Post Office can afford,” said Gilchrist.
Gilchrist said post offices in George remain closed today due to the negotiation process and are expected to operate as usual next week.
