GEORGE NEWS - During the month of October, Isabelle Botes, a Grade 8 learner at York High, flew to Johannesburg to take part in the Talent Africa national event.
She entered four vocal pieces and had spent many hours practising these items.
She performed she song solos at the Alberton Civic Centre, where she was awarded three gold medals, one silver medal and a special award for "Top 10 vocalist".
To qualify for the national event, she had to achieve top marks in the regional competition, which she did by ear.
