GEORGE NEWS - Visitor restrictions are still in effect at the George Hospital.
"As part of its responsibility in ensuring everyone’s safety, the Department of Health will continue to restrict visitations to its health facilities in line with national safety regulations," says Nadia Ferreira, Garden Route District spokesperson.
"Some facilities are in a position to allow one birthing partner and one parent/guardian for paediatric patients. Facilities will also consider visitation on compassionate grounds, for example in the event where a patient is at end of life stage."
Ferreira said anyone planning to go to a health facility, is encouraged to first phone the facility to enquire about visitations, as this varies daily due to the number of factors pertaining to each facility.
