GEORGE NEWS - Fellow bikers, friends and family will pay their last respects to Marius Geldenhuys (39) by taking part in a final bike run for him later today.
The run will start at 14:15 from the parking lot at York Street Boulevard (Checkers) and move up York Street, go down Courtenay Street and then turn left into Third Street where a memorial service will be held at the Biker’s Church at 15:00.
Geldenhuys, a local biker and member of the Locals MCC, lost his life in an accident on Wednesday evening, 19 February. Geldenhuys was on his way home from Wilderness when a car allegedly turned in front of him on the bridge between the Garden Route Mall and the Kraaibosch Sasol garage.
The car, that was coming from George in the direction of Wilderness, was turning off to the right to get onto the N2 when it collided with Geldenhuys on his bike.
