GEORGE NEWS - Marius Geldenhuys (39), the local biker who lost his life in an accident on Wednesday night, 19 February, will be laid to rest this coming Thursday.
A memorial service will be held for Geldenhuys at 15:00 at the Biker’s Church in Third Street.
Geldenhuys had tended to his wife’s car, which had broken down after she took their daughter for a fitting of her matric farewell dress in Kleinkrantz.
On his way home, a white car allegedly turned in front of him on the bridge between the Garden Route Mall and the Kraaibosch Sasol garage. The car, that was coming from George in the direction of Wilderness, was turning off to the right to get onto the N2 when it collided with the bike.
His wife, Salomé, and their daughter, who were also on their way home, were first on the scene. They found him lying in the grass and alerted friends and emergency services. Paramedics declared Geldenhuys dead on the scene.
