GEORGE NEWS - Famous South African actor Jacques Gombault presented two Garden Route film and TV workshops last week in association with the Garden Route Film Commission.
The workshops were held in George and Mossel Bay.
Patrick Walton, chairman of the Garden Route Film Commission, said their goal was to inspire people of all ages, races and backgrounds to act in front of the camera.
"It was an experience that not only built self-confidence, but also gave insight into what goes on behind the camera and what responsibilities the actors and other film crew members have on the film set."
Acting workshops for movie and soap roles were provided for the students. Roleplaying scenarios provided them with the information they needed to learn and act out. They created their own scenes, recorded themselves on video, and learned how to edit them.
Gombault is known for various roles in TV shows and films such as Song vir Katryn, Binnelanders, 7de Laan, District 9, The Bang Bang Club and Silverton Siege. He also produced the movie Khumbula.
"Thanks to Jacques and his outstanding teaching skills, they acquired so much knowledge while having a fantastic time," said Walton.
