GEORGE NEWS - The Thembalethu Police crime prevention unit has recovered a number of stolen goods on Tuesday 26 February from a house in Ncamanza Street in Zone 3 after receiving information from the community.
The police searched the house and found a Proline monitor, Sinotec 32-inch TV, Panasonic 32-inch TV, broken Solotech soundbar, two Nokia cellphones, black and white cellphone, two Samsung cellphones, Microsoft cellphone, red and black steam butler, laptop charger, steel hedge cutter, pink Adidas backpack, screwdriver, wheel spanner, blue bolt cutter, pair of earphones and grey and pink backpack.
Three suspects aged between 23 and 31 were arrested for possession of stolen property and possession of housebreaking implements. They appeared in the Thembalethu Magistrate's Court on 28 February.
Thembalethu acting station commander, Lieut-Col Mteto Sapepa, applauded the police for their quick response to the complaint that led to the successful arrest of the suspects. He also thanked community members who gave the information to the police and assured them that their names will not be revealed.

"Community members are urged not to buy goods that are sold by anybody who does not have papers confirming him as the owner. Community members must also not allow anybody to use them as a channel to organise people from outside to come and buy stolen goods from Thembalethu. If those people do so, they will be supporting criminal activities," said Sapepa.
