GEORGE NEWS - A couple was assaulted and robbed in their home in Ballots Bay Heights on Monday evening, 6 June.
According to Southern Cape police spokes-person, Sgt Chris Spies, three unidentified men entered the residence at about 18:45 and proceeded to the living room where they accosted the husband (64) and wife (62).
"The wife was forced to the ground by the men while her husband was assaulted using unknown objects. He sustained serious head injuries. The suspects made off with some jewellery before they fled the scene," said Spies.
Both victims were taken to hospital for medical care where the husband was admitted to ICU. No arrests have been made.

• The police are probing the murder of a woman (79) at Pinnacle Point Estate outside Mossel Bay. Upon arrival police found the body of the deceased, Margaretha S Willemse, in a chair in the bedroom with a wound to the neck. Her 85-year-old husband was admitted to hospital with multiple stab wounds.
• An elderly Bitou resident became a victim of a farm attack when armed suspects overpowered her in her home in Fisanthoek on Saturday night, 4 June.
