GEORGE NEWS - He was frightened and traumatised when he was surrendered to the Garden Route SPCA (GRSPCA) about three months ago. But young Enzo, despite his difficult past, transformed into a beautiful, friendly dog.
"His initial reactions told a story of pain and fear - he couldn't tolerate being touched on his face, and any attempt to place a leash near him resulted in extreme distress.
"It was clear that his early life had been fraught with challenges, leaving him wary of interaction with humans," says the GRSPCA's kennel manager, Sam Trietsch.
However, the dedicated team at the GRSPCA refused to give up on Enzo. With patience, consistency and compassion, they took on the delicate process of earning his trust. Slowly but surely, Enzo began to open up.
Enzo has made incredible progress, but his journey isn't over. He is looking for a special home with someone who can provide the time, patience and structure he needs to continue building confidence. His ideal owner will understand that trust takes time and will be committed to balancing discipline with plenty of love.

"He is a bundle of (energetic) love and has bonded beautifully with his pal, Blossom, who is also looking for a family," says Trietsch.
If you're ready to open your heart and home to a deserving dog, Enzo might just be the companion you've been waiting for.
