GEORGE NEWS - National Library Week (16 to 22 March) will be launched with a ribbon cutting ceremony at George library tomorrow, Saturday 14 March, at 09:00.
There will be stalls for little readers, a jumping castle, face painting and a presentation by George Pre-Primary school.
The programme for the rest of the week is as follows:
• Monday 16 May, 10:00: the George Youth Café will do a dramatised storytelling and dance in the George Library foyer.
• Tuesday 17 March, 18:00: The Q-lit reading circle will have their monthly meeting at George Library. The evening will be a celebration of the life and works of storyteller PG du Plesssis.
• Thursday 19 March, 09:00 to 12:00: The Library and Information Association of South Africa (Liasa) Southern Cape branch will be launched at the George Regional Library/DCAS in the York Park Building (glass building), St John’s Street, George. It is the first of its kind in the Southern Cape.
