GEORGE NEWS - Forty years have passed and the heads have turned grey, but that didn't prevent Van Kervel School alumni from having a great time at their reunion.
About 100 former learners came from all corners of the country to reunite with teachers, classmates and friends at the school on Saturday 22 February.
Former learners and teachers vividly recalled the good old schooldays of the late 60s to mid-70s. The reunion was organised by André Botma, who said the event was an ideal opportunity to go back down memory lane and share their life stories.
Van Kervel School in George currently caters for learners with special educational needs.
Klasie van Huyssteen (73) was at the school between 1962 and 1964. With him is his wife, Mona (71).
