GEORGE NEWS - An art exhibition featuring 200 paintings varying from abstract to romantic wildlife paintings - titled the "Retrospective Art Exhibition" opened this week at the George Museum.
A gala evening is being staged on Wednesday 1 August when a wine and cheese, as well as music, will add to the general bonhomie.
The South Cape Association of Visual Art (SCAVA) has invited movers and shakers in cultural circles to be there and learn about the plans for bringing about a closer cooperation between cultural organization.

Artist featured include - Johan Beukes, Gill Doddington, Keith Forrester, Tersia Hoffmann, Pauline Lourens, Lynda Murison, Peter Savo, Maura St.John and Ester Zonnestein.
"The superb watercolours by Gill Doddington; Wild Life by Ester Zonnestein; miniatures by Maura St.John; new portraits of international sportsmen by Johan Beukes; landscapes by Keith Forrester and Pauline Lourens; modern art by Lynda Murison; Pyro techniques by Peter Savo; and a marvellous array of skill by Tersia Hoffmann are included in this superb exhibition." So said chairman Maura St.John.
She added "It is well worth giving up a little free time to view. All the walls in the Charlie Sayers hall are full of art.
"The Exhibition opened on Monday 23 July and will run until the day the Sanlam collection arrives for viewing on 20 September. At the Gala evening on 1 August, the Museum hosts the hospitality industry of the region."
