GEORGE NEWS - Repairs on the Eastern and Western Mains were hampered by rainfall yesterday. Both of the pipe bursts have occurred in areas that are difficult to access and are complex repairs.
A spike in water usage morning led to levels in the main reservoirs being very low. All areas are experiencing low pressure.
We ask that water consumption throughout George is kept to a minimum. Please contact 044 801 6300 with any water related faults.
Use of water has regrettably been very high today. As a result the reservoir supplying Thembalethu has dropped to below 12 % capacity. The level needs to rise back to 50% before the pumps can safely operate.
Consumers in Thembalethu will not have access to water until approximately 16:30 this afternoon. Two water trucks have been stationed at Thembalethu Mall and Thembalethu Clinic.
