According to the latest information the man was found with his hands tied next to the abandoned black bakkie – a Ford, not a Corsa, with a CA registration - at the Ballots Bay gate in Thembalethu.
The man allegedly told police that he was hijacked by three men last night and held captive.
It is not known where the alleged hijacking took place.
Meanwhile, the delivery vehicle in Ring Road has been moved and the scene cleared.
The Ford bakkie has also been towed to a police station in George.
The police have launched a massive man hunt in the area where the bakkie was found.
