Update
GEORGE NEWS - Work on the repair section of Caledon Street will continue tomorrow with excavation and then import of suitable material from Thursday. There will be a stop and go operating through the Easter weekend.
Next week Tuesday they plan to start with the stabilized layer and BTB layer will follow after the curing period. Thereafter the asphalt layer on the whole road will be done in sections.
Sidewalks: Asphalt will start on Thursday and will be completed within the next 2 weeks.
Please note:
- Caledon Street is still a construction site and as such, the road, manholes and curb levels will still be different. Please exercise care and caution during this time.
- Please respect the road signs that are put in place for the safety of all road users.
- The contractor has experienced vandalism of his signage in the past. Should you witness vandalism of any kind, please contact us so that we can take the necessary action.
- We urge residents and business owners to please proceed with caution during the roadworks.
