GEORGE NEWS - George Police arrested a 37-year-old man following an incident at his residence in Laing Street this morning, Sunday 15 August at about 04:20.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Sgt Chris Spies, the man was in his caravan when he was confronted by an unknown man armed with a knife.
A scuffle ensued and the trespasser sustained multiple injuries. He collapsed inside the caravan and was later declared dead by paramedics on scene.
As a result, the 37-year-old man is now facing a charge of murder and is scheduled to appear in the George Magistrate's Court on Monday 16 August.
"Circumstances surrounding this incident are being probed by George detectives. A case of house robbery was also opened which will form part of the overall police probe.
"The identity of the deceased is yet to be determined," said Spies.
