GEORGE NEWS - The George Business Chamber (GBC) network evening hosted by Tavcor in Knysna Road on Thursday 27 October, saw the unveiling of the beautiful and impressive BAIC Beijing X55 SUV.
The event, following in the wake of the illustrious GBC Gala Awards evening a week earlier, was well attended and guests were treated to delectable eats and drinks. Tavcor also sponsored some very special prizes for the lucky draw.
Paul Balmer, dealer principal of Tavcor Garden Route across all dealerships, told the gathering of business people that 2022 has been a very exciting year for Tavcor - specifically in the Garden Route, as the group finds itself on a phenomenal growth path.
"We have traditionally been known over the years as primarily a VW and Audi dealer and having Carpointe as a non-franchised floor, but in January of this year we successfully negotiated the takeover of Renault in the Garden Route, and on 1 April, Renault George, Renault Knysna and Renault Mossel Bay became part of the Tavcor stable."

The new Beijing X55 SUV was introduced to guests.
Balmer said this has been a strategic move for them as it has opened up the fast-growing Mossel Bay market, and subsequent to Tavcor taking over Renault, they have now also acquired the Suzuki brand for Mossel Bay.
"We have taken over the Ougat Meubels building in Voorbaai and are busy remodelling the facility to become a multi-franchise Renault and Suzuki dealership, and we will be fully operational by mid-January 2023."
He said another growth area has been the expansion into the Chinese vehicle market.
"The Chinese vehicle manufacturers are absolutely on a mission and are producing quality vehicles at an affordable price and gaining market share - a space in the market we need to occupy. We have the JAC franchise which produces a range of commercial vehicles. We also have the BAIC franchise, one of the biggest vehicle manufacturers in China, and we are very excited to launch the stunning new X55 SUV."
Tavcor ensured that delectable eats and drinks were served.
BAIC is an acronym for Beijing Auto Investment Corporation.
"What all of this means for Tavcor Motor Group, is that Tavcor in the Garden Route is no longer the little brother to our businesses in the Eastern Cape. We will be a key player in achieving our three-year goal of an annual turnover for the group of R2-billion by 2025," Balmer said.
