GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - The Oliver Twist project is a community outreach programme of Group Editors, the owner and publisher of several community newspapers in the Southern Cape, among others, Mossel Bay Advertiser, George Herald, Oudtshoorn Courant, South Cape Forum, Knysna-Plett Herald and Graaff-Reinet Advertiser.
In many instances the community newspaper forms the heart of the community - this is where good and the not so good news is shared first.
Staff attached to the community newspaper are acutely aware of the everyday affairs of town as they live and work in town. They therefore share the current difficult economic climate and know full well the needs that arise and should be addressed as a result.
The Oliver Twist project aims to facilitate goodwill in our communities. It is not cash driven. Instead, we ask our readers to merely part with whatever they may have too many of.
All we ask is that you will share of your time and that you donate your possessions that you no longer need so that others who may need it more, can make better use of it.
