Enough reason for the George Herald, FNB and the Garden Route Mall to join hands with STOP HUNGER to help alleviate the dire situation in our town.
The STOP HUNGER project raises funds to make up meal packets costing R12 each and that will serve six people.
As part of their fundraising efforts, staff members of the George Herald and FNB charmed generous contributions out of the shoppers at the Garden Route Mall on Saturday.
The amount of R12 343 was raised and added to the R27 656 contributed by local businesses.
The food which will feed 20 000 kids is being packaged by about 60 volunteers today and will be distributed to various organisations in George before Christmas.
