Redelinghuys was also runner-up in the sport photography section where two of his surfing photos featured in the top ten.
The FCJ Excellence Awards is a national newspaper competition for all community and local newspapers in South Africa, representing all the major media groups like Caxton, Media24 and Independent Newspapers.
The prize-giving was held at the exclusive Leriba Hotel and Spa in Centurion tonight (Friday 23 June) and was attended by al the finalists as well as invited delegates from all the major newspaper groups in the country.
