GEORGE NEWS & VIDEO - The couple who took social media by storm when they sang to one another in front of the pulpit will be celebrating their first Valentine's Day together.
A video taken on 19 January at the wedding of Michelle (née Harker) and Herschelle Adams went viral, with more than 50 000 views and 700 shares within hours after their special moment was posted on Facebook.
The bride and groom each sang a verse of the song, Dankie vir 'n vriend soos jy (Thanks for a friend like you), and then sang the rest of the song together. The song originates from a church songbook of the New Apostolic Church.

According to Michelle, they are very down to earth people and she expects her husband to surprise her with a small, but unique gesture on Valentine's Day. "We will probably do something romantic at home," she said. "He is very ingenious and can do amazing things with almost nothing."

Michelle said if it wasn't for her move to Riversdale, she may never have met the man of her dreams. She currently works as an administration clerk at the Western Cape department of education (circuit 1) in Riversdale, and her husband is a clerk at the department of health. "I always said, 'If I don't find a man like my dad, I don't want a husband.' I would never have expected to find him here," she said.
The couple met at the Apostolic Church in the quiet town, where he conducts the choir and she plays the organ.
Michelle says her husband is her inspiration, and gave her all the emotional support she needed when she started her weight loss journey almost two years ago. Up to date she has lost 40kg and she is ready to lose yet another 40kg, with her knight at her side.
