GEORGE NEWS – The bail application in the case against Blaine Vosloo (30), who faces two counts of culpable homicide following the fatal Outeniqua Pass collision, has been postponed to Monday 9 November.
During proceedings in the George Magistrate’s Court today, Thursday 5 November, the state indicated that it was not yet in a position to say whether it would oppose his release on bail or not.
The investigating officer had not complied with the National Prosecuting Authority’s request to verify certain details.
Vosloo remains in custody.
The charges stem from the collision between an Isuzu bakkie and a Chrysler Crossfire near the Blanco turn-off on Sunday 1 November.
Two Waboomskraal women, Marie van Zyl (72) and Leona Ronetta Jacobsohn (68), died following the crash.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
