GEORGE NEWS - Thembalethu police are investigating a case of attempted murder after seven people were shot and wounded in Thembalethu last night, Sunday 23 May.
Southern Cape police spokesperson, Capt Malcolm Pojie says the shooting occured at a home in Asazani, Zone 7, at approximately 19:25 last night.
"No deaths were reported, but seven people were wounded during the incident. Police confiscated a firearm that was allegedly left on the scene by the unknown shooters when they fled the scene," Pojie said.
No further information is available at this stage.
Rumours that the incident could be related to recent cases of extortion in the area, could not be confirmed.
