GEORGE NEWS - The Western Cape Department of Education held a Women in Leadership seminar on Saturday 17 August at the George High School as part of Women's Month celebrations.
Women in leadership in the education sector were celebrated. Guest speakers touched on topics such as the importance of women's role in the economic and social development of the nation and in their own communities.
Athena Makan, key accounts manager at Eskom, spoke about 'excellence through empowerment'.
Her presentation motivated women to strive for the best not only in their work places, but also in their families.
Event organiser Roger Jacobs said the aim was about inspiring women and was focused on the importance of believing in their own potential and abilities.
