GEORGE NEWS - The search for a missing fisherman, believed to be from New Dawn Park in Pacaltsdorp, started earlier this afternoon. 

This is the fourth fisherman who was washed from the rocks and went missing while fishing in the last eight days. 

Three fishermen went missing last weekend, while fishing in two different areas along the coastline of Pacaltsdorp and Thembalethu.

Sgt Christopher Spies confirmed that a team of search and rescue personnel was assembled earlier today and are currently conducting a search and rescue operation in the water near Kwelanga Lodge in Hansmoeskraal, Pacaltsdorp.

“Information from the scene is sketchy, but reports available suggest that a fisherman arrived at the police station at about 14:50 today. He reported that he and a friend were fishing when the man disappeared in the water,” said Spies.
