GEORGE NEWS - An informal meet and greet was held at the brand-new Planet Fitness tonight (Friday 9 December) amid a flurry of construction and installation teams adding the finishing touches to the interior to be ready for tomorrow morning when the doors open.
The site in the Heather Park Shopping Centre in Witfontein Road underwent a R15 million refurbishment and gym junkies will be able to train their hearts out on an extensive range of state-of-the-art equipment. Lynx Real Estate oversaw the refurbishment.
The property owner, local developer Marius van Huyssteen, welcomed his new tenants and said he was delighted to have entered into an agreement with Planet Fitness.
Planet Fitness managing director Mannee de Wet said they have been waiting a long time to open a club in George. "I am super excited. We couldn't have hoped for a better site. I would like to thank all the developers and contractors who helped so that we could open in time for the season."
