More than 45 youngsters, most between the ages of 6 and 15 years, attended the party. These youngsters have experienced traumatic events and thus came to the attention of George Child and Family Welfare’s social workers.
It was firemen Richardo Michaels and Johan Troskie who gave each child their Christmas present - all donated by the George community - after which the youngsters could continue having their faces painted, playing on the jumping castles and enjoying lunch and refreshments. The day also included entertainment provided by the group Youth180, and each child received a stocking at the end of the day.
