GEORGE NEWS - A man (32) drowned earlier today at Herold's Bay. According to NSRI Spokesperson, Craig Lambinon, the man got caught in rip currents.
NSRI lifeguards retrieved the man and extensive CPR efforts were conducted by the paramedics. ''Sadly he was declared deceased,'' said Lambinon.
In another incident at Victoria Bay another male swimmer (22) got into trouble, also caught up in rip currents. He was rescued from the surf by a former life guard and transported to hospital by ambulance.
According to Lambinon he is in a stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
