GEORGE NEWS - As part of celebrating Mandela Day, George Police and community police forum (CPF) members donated sanitary towels to school girls at Touwsranten Primary School on Thursday 18 July.
"The children were very excited to be visited by the police and CPF members. We spoke to them about looking after their bodies and also about bullying," said George Police communications officer, Captain Nolonwabu Tshengu.
CPF board members also donated toiletries to 150 people at Emmaüs. "This is part of the proactive programmes initiated by the police and the CPFs. Programmes such as these make people feel that the world is a better place," Tshengu said.
Police also spoiled community members who visited the community service centre with small parcels in commemoration of Mandela Day.
