GEORGE NEWS - Learners of the Kretzenshoop Primary aftercare holiday programme and youth from the Blanco area were taken on an educational hike in the breathtaking Witfontein forest, which lies on Blanco's doorstep, on Wednesday 27 June.
Kretzenshoop thanks Deon Qwena of CapeNature who offered their time to take the children through the forest and explained the importance of environmental awareness and conservation.
It was a cold, rainy day, but protected by the overhead canopy of the beautiful forest, everybody thoroughly enjoyed the outing. Qwena and his team are working with multiple schools in the Garden Route on this environmental awareness initiative.
Deon Qwena from CapeNature talks to the group about their beautiful surroundings in Witfontein's "outdoor classroom".
