GEORGE NEWS - Both lanes are open for traffic at Kaaimans Pass, N2 after a successful rescue operation earlier this afternoon.
Metro Ambulance Services reacted to the scene, using the Air Mercy Services Rescue Helicopter to assist a hiker who needed medical attention after a fall.
The helicopter was spotted on the walkway across the Kaaimans River.
Motorists had to proceed with caution for the duration of the rescue operation.
NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said their Wilderness crew helped with a landing zone for the helicopter.
