Update
GEORGE NEWS - Former DA Councillor Henry Jones was due to appear in the George Magistrate's Court on Monday 7 December, but could not attend due to Covid-19 safety measures.
The court heard on Monday that Jones is currently in self-isolation since his life partner has tested positive for Covid-19.
Jones earlier pleaded not guilty on 11 counts of fraud and one count of theft.
He is accused, among other things, of illegally selling subsidised plots and RDP houses in Rosedale during his term as portfolio councillor for housing.
The matter was postponed to 15 and 16 March 2021 with further dates, 13 and 14 May 2021, to finalise the case. Jones will then be either convicted, sentenced or acquitted.
