GEORGE NEWS -  It was a smooth start at Holy Cross Primary that welcomed 60 Grade 1s yesterday, 18 January. 

Principal Jane Askew said she is excited for the year to start and that it was great to welcome all the Grade 1s, for whom an action-packed week awaits. 

Soon after all the parents left, all learners were settled into their classrooms and unpacking their books and stationery.

Holy Cross Primary welcomed twins Chloe and Zhoe Flores to Grade 1 yesterday. With them is Grade 1 teacher Leanda Maier, who is excited about teaching the eager young minds.

Yanic, second son of artist Kevin van Nierkerk, was excited to start his first day of school. With them are Kevin's wife, Verenay and the couple's youngest son, Zachary. Their elder son, Liam, is also a learner at the school.
