GEORGE NEWS AND VIDEOS - So far so good. Thus far all the planned dry-run trips of Go George buses in Thembalethu have been completed successfully.
As far as could be established, there were no incidents and the results are currently being considered.
During these drives, undertaken in the blue and green branded buses, the real time it takes to complete the various proposed routes by bus is established and checked against the proposed timetables.
According to Chantel Edwards, spokesperson for the George Municipality, public sentiment throughout the dry runs remained positive, with members of the community welcoming the buses in their areas with excitement on the first day.
The specific date of route activation will be announced a week or two before the time.
In the meantime, Go George Communication Champions will continue to engage with the community to explain to inexperienced bus passengers how to effectively plan a trip and use the system to their advantage.
