GEORGE NEWS - A Cansa Shavathon was held at the George Herald's offices in Ring Road this morning.

Several employees had their hair sprayed and two brave men had their heads shaved.

The Shavathon is an annual awareness and fundraising event held by Cansa.

A number of Shavathons will be held at various shopping centres in George tomorrow between 09:00 and 15:00.

There will be teams manning Thembalethu Square, Garden Route Mall, Shoprite Centre, Outeniqua Farmers' Market, Redefine Boulevard (York Street) and Pick n Pay Knysna Road.

For a donation of R50 for adults and R25 for children under 12 years, you can shave, spray or donate a ponytail.
If you opt for the spray, it will last for a day and washes out easily. The spray used is made from vegetable dye and is safe to use.
