GEORGE NEWS - SHEconquers, a project that inspires young girls to reach their full potential, hosted school girls for a motivational session on Saturday 2 November at the Inkcubeko Science Centre.
The aim of the event was to motivate young girls and to boost their self-esteem. During this event the girls also received free sanitary towels donated by Pep Stores and private donors.
The event was attended by dignitaries such as the Eden Police Cluster Commander, Major-General Oswald Reddy.
Khonzeka Sampo, the director of SHEconquers, said the event was organised after she observed that young girls are feeling unsafe and vulnerable due to the killings of women in the past months.
"It is this background that made us decide to create an event especially meant for them. We have mapped a plan to restore and encourage confidence and self-sustenance in these young souls.
"Our goal is to create a world where girls live beyond the limits of their own imaginations. A world where there are no impossible expectations of beauty," said Sampo.
