GEORGE NEWS - The George Municipality said yesterday (15 January) that the civil engineering department would be grading the access road of the Garden Route Dam within the next two weeks.
It responded to a query from Mr PJ Hannabus regarding the road that has been left very corrugated because of the construction vehicle traffic during the raising of the spillway.
Civil engineering director Regenald Wesso said a section of the road where it is very steep, will soon also be paved with bricks.
So tourists, local hikers and cyclists who use transport for their visits and sport activities will soon be able to enjoy a smoother ride.
The dam level currently stands at 65,4%.
