"It all began with five very nice artworks that had been donated to raise funds for the SPCA," said Trevor White, staunch SPCA supporter and active Wilderness resident. "I looked for other and very different items to enrich the auction and landed up with some real rarities and 'lots' of fun experiences!"
What would you bid to have lunch with two SA Air Force 'Top Guns' – Major Catherine Labuschagne, the world's first female pilot to fly a Saab Gripen fighter jet and her husband who specialises in Hawk jets. How rare a treat to chat about the customised helmets that allow the pilot to fire at targets using only their eyes, breaking the sound barrier and competing in 'Top Gun' target shooting competitions.
Other 'rarities' on auction are:
- An 1847 document signed by Queen Victoria appointing a surgeon to one of her regiments. (Google values Victoria's signature at up to R30 000).
- A genuine German Luftwaffe great-coat; a real fashion statement.
- Shadowing a Radio EDENfm DJ to learn the ropes - and then hosting your own DJ show!
- A head-spinning spin for two into the Little Karoo in two Porsche GT3 RS supercars!
- Your two ball playing at Kingswood against the Glenwood Open Champion and his partner!
For tickets, contact Trevor on 084 852 9938. Tickets are R100 each including a free welcoming drink, canapés and 'lots' of fun.
