GEORGE NEWS - A 37-year-old man, Andisile Madikwa, became the latest victim of alleged mob justice in Thembalethu on Saturday 3 June.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, Thembalethu police received a call about the incident in Nqwemesha Street, Zone 9, at about 09:00.
"Reports available suggest that police were dispatched to a scene where a group assaulted a man. On arrival the members found a man with multiple injuries," Spies said.
According to unconfirmed information, Madikwa and two others allegedly robbed a local store shortly before the incident. Madikwa was apprehended by members of the community who then assaulted him.
The investigation into the killing is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
