GEORGE NEWS - Auditions for the George Has Got Talent (GGT) gospel artist and bands competition are done and dusted. Judges had tough decisions to make on Saturday morning as artists battled it out for a spot in the top 15.
Auditions took place at the George Museum under the auspices of Harmony Spiritual and Emotional Healing Centre.
"We were extremely excited about the enthusiasm of participants and the quality of talents displayed by local musicians and artists at the auditions. Although we created this platform for hidden local talent within the George community, the quality and level of depth of the talents displayed, still astounded and surprised everybody involved," said Harmony's marketing and project coordinator, Lee Venter.
The top 15 artists who made it to the finals will be performing with the assistance of a group of spirit dancers to create the ultimate cast for a top-quality gospel event.
"To those who did not make the finals and other hopeful future participants, please remember that this was only the beginning of an exciting project which will certainly carry on from strength to strength in the future," said Venter.
The top 15 participants are:
Charlize de Villiers, Ewan Rademeyer, Monique Viljoen, Elizene, Veronique, LeClue, Isabelle Botes, Joy Wolmarans, Mischa, Samantha Pedro, Mia Ryan, Sarie Lesibanie, JT Haas and Meyer Ferreira.
