GEORGE NEWS - Glenwood House School achieved a 100% pass rate in the 2022 Independent Examinations Board (IEB) national senior certificate (NSC) exams.
The school's executive head, Grant Williams said he is delighted.
“The Glenwood House family wishes to congratulate our matric class of 2022 on their incredible set of matric results. 2022 was an extremely challenging year for all matriculants in South Africa, as we made the transition out of 2 years of Covid and back to a sense of normality, with all the pressures that came with it. Their hard work, perseverance and agility have certainly paid dividends."
He said the 2022 matric class have followed in the footsteps of every previous matric class at Glenwood by achieving a 100% pass rate.
"Further to that, our class of 2022 achieved a 100% BD pass – an exceptional achievement. All at Glenwood House pray for God's richest blessings on our class of 2022 as they begin the next stage of their journey.”
According to the IEB, the NSC pass rate nationally is 98,42%, slightly higher than the 2021 pass rate of 98,39%.
All IEB candidates in the country who passed achieved a pass that grants access to tertiary study at one of the following three levels:
- 89,32% of the cohort achieved entry to degree study, compared to 89,2% in 2021.
- 7,52% qualified for entry to diploma study, compared to 7,82% in 2021.
- 1,57% achieved entry for study at the Higher Certificate level, compared to 1,37% in 2021.
