Update
GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The tension is subdued at the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate’s Court as those gathered wait to be called into the courtroom for Bevan van Druten’s (53) fourth appearance. Today moves at a slower, more subdued pace.
Many of the people to whom George Herald spoke say they are unsure what to expect from today’s proceedings.
For Nicky van Heerden’s (54) close friends and family, time feels suspended.
Having had little opportunity to process the shock of her death, they are hoping the bail hearing will bring some measure of clarity and perhaps the first real opportunity to begin the grieving process.
