GEORGE NEWS - The sport development section of George Municipality has confirmed that the Conville swimming pool, which has been closed and standing empty for some time now, is undergoing routine maintenance.
Debra Sauer, municipal communications official, said the maintenance work will address water losses and damaged tiles, and the chlorine dosage infrastructure will be upgraded.
“The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of November with the planned opening on 1 December.”
Sauer was responding to a query about the impact of the closure on private swimmers as well as the Conville Swimming Club, which has successfully hosted prominent events here.
Recreational swimmers are also impacted.
