GEORGE NEWS - A man who was arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms in Thembalethu on Saturday 1 August made a brief appearance in the Thembalethu Regional Court on Monday 3 August.
The George Serious Organised Crime Investigation Team traced and arrested Pierre Morice Mutula with assistance from the Kroonstad Task Team.
The case was postponed to 10 September for further investigation.
According to Hawks spokesperson Warrant Officer Zinzi Hani, Mutula was initially arrested on 10 February 2025 after two illegal firearms and some ammunition were allegedly found in his possession.
He was charged and subsequently appeared in court, where he was granted bail.
He failed to appear again, resulting in a warrant for his arrest being issued and circulated, which led to his rearrest.
