GEORGE NEWS - Swift action by police and members of Pacaltsdorp Community Police Forum secured the arrest of a man after a teenager, Lindsay Johnson (17), was brutally stabbed to death in New Dawn Park, Pacaltsdorp, on Sunday 19 May.
The suspect, whose identity can only be released once he has appeared in court, was arrested in Thembalethu on Tuesday night, 21 May.
He faces charges of murder and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm after another woman who was with Johnson at the time of the incident, was also badly stabbed.
It is believed that Johnson, the other victim and the suspect were socialising at her house when an argument ensued.
Johnson was declared dead on the scene by medical personnel, while her friend was transported to hospital.
